Bisbee '17 Screening at Tucson History Museum

Saturday July 13, 2019

Join the Arizona Historical Society for an exclusive pre-screening of Bisbee ‘17 at the Arizona History Museum.

Radically combining documentary and scripted elements, Bisbee '17 follows several members of the close-knit community in Bisbee, Arizona, a former mining town, as they commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Bisbee Deportation, when 1,200 immigrant miners were violently taken from their homes by a deputized force, shipped to the desert on cattle cars and left to die. Following the film, there will be a discussion panel with the filmmakers, artist Laurie McKenna, and historian Mike Anderson. This program is presented in collaboration with the Arizona Historical Society, Arizona Public Media, and POV.

Doors open at 5:00 PM. Be sure to arrive early to view McKenna's featured installation, The Undesirables, or stop by information tables hosted by the Arizona Historical Society, Arizona Public Media, and POV! The film will start at 6:00 PM. The panel discussion will follow immediately after the film.

This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. We cannot guarantee seating for guests who have not registered. Please, only two tickets per order.

Free Parking available in the Main Gate garage on 2nd St.
